Definitive and Permanent Solution Against Hair Loss: Hair Transplant

Genetics, external factors, disease or old age… whatever the cause; baldness is undoubtedly a problem that makes the individual who encounters this problem introverted and insecure. Nevertheless, the number of people who adopt baldness as an image and turn this situation into an advantage is too high to be underestimated. So is our hair really a part of our image? Before coming to the answer to this question, it is useful to remind our local and foreign artists who have made exaggerated or natural wigs a part of their make-up when you look a little behind our age.

Just as fashion changes from year to year, different aesthetic perspectives on hair
today, especially the audience between the ages of 25-35
is dragging after it. Naturally, many people who want to adapt to trends with their lush hair
find the solution in hair transplantation methods that have developed with the advancement of technology.
While experts accept the loss of 50 to 100 hair strands per day as normal, they argue that a doctor should be consulted in case of excessive hair loss and thinning. But why does our hair fall out? Every patient considering hair transplantation has a story about this. It is possible to list the causes of hair loss ranging from genetic causes; alopecia areata, also known as alopecia; hormonal changes during pregnancy and after childbirth; high fever, severe infections and colds; over- or under-active thyroid diseases; deficient protein-containing nutrition. In addition, in cases such as iron deficiency; side effects of birth control pills and other routine medications; major surgical interventions and chronic diseases;
fungal diseases and trichotillomania, which is a condition that must be overcome with psychological help, hair transplantation provides successful results up to one hundred percent.

As with every aesthetic operation, it is important to find an experienced and meticulous physician for hair transplantation. Because in a poorly planned hair transplant operation, even if your hair grows, you may not be satisfied. Therefore, the donor, i.e. the condition of the area from which the hair follicles will be taken, should be planned by considering the openness of the area where the hair will be transplanted. It is also important to use the donor area efficiently during hair transplantation, to ensure homogenous harvesting and to extract a sufficient number of follicles. There is one more item that you should not forget here, that is, the grafts should be transplanted at the right angles, that is, the channel angles should be designed in a slant and direction suitable for the patient’s
natural hair structure. It would be appropriate to describe hair transplantation operations in which the hair line is calculated according to the face shape of the person, so to speak, that do not look like a grass man, where the hair bottoms do not attract attention, as “natural”, that is, successful.

From the time you decide to have a hair transplant, you should stop using alcohol,
aspirin and flu medicine derivatives 2 days before the operation. However, let’s add that you should avoid using lotions that will affect the hair and scalp before the operation. If you have chronic diseases such as heart, blood pressure, diabetes, stomach disease and take regular medication; you should definitely inform your doctor about this. You should sleep for at least 8 hours at night before the hair transplant operation. Before coming to the clinic, it is also important that you wash your hair and choose a comfortable outfit that you can wear and take off.
If we have been able to convey the preparation process so far, we can start talking about hair transplantation methods. As you all know, there are 2 different methods of hair transplantation, FUT and FUE. The difference between the two can be summarised as the way the hair is taken from the scalp. FUT method is preferred in cases where there is very little hair in the hairy area to be donor, a maximum of 2000 – 3000 grafts can be taken in a single session. In this
method, the scalp between the two ears is removed during hair transplantation, aesthetic sutures are applied to the incision site and there is no scar afterwards. The recovery period may vary according to the body structure of the person. In the FUE method, which is the most preferred hair transplantation technique, each hair follicle ranging between 3000-4500 grafts is taken one by one at certain intervals and in certain numbers and transplanted to the balding area; unlike the FUT method, there is no stitching. Again, it is useful to trust your physician about which of the two techniques will be suitable for you.
The session of the hair transplant operation, which is considered the most risk-free and reliable method against baldness, varies between 5 and 6 hours. After the procedure, the first wash should be done at the centre 3 days later. The final state of the hair transplantation area becomes apparent only after 1 year and the hair does not fall out again. Hair transplantation, which finds a solution to the problems of many people suffering from baldness today, is one of the most important methods that almost everyone applies to, regardless of men and women, adults or children. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, hair transplantation is recommended for baldness due to hormones and familial heredity; in cases where hair or eyebrows are bare after accidents such as burns; patients with partially balding area after facelift operation; people who are partially balding due to disease and candidates with female pattern hair loss.

As a result, hair transplantation, which is one of the most frequently used aesthetic methods today, plays an important role not only in beautifying the appearance and creating an image, but also in improving the self-confidence of people who exhibit an introverted attitude in social environments due to hair loss, or in the lives of individuals who want to erase the traces of that accident after an unfortunate accident.
