Cosmelan-Dermamelan
The active ingredients in both kits are the same. They differ only in their proportions.
- Azelaic acid: It acts by inhibiting the proliferation of melanocyte cells or by killing or stopping the function of the cells. Azelaic acid, a saturated dicarboxylic acid, is obtained from wheat, rye and barley.
- Phytic acid: Phytic acid is the primary store of phosphate in plants and has antioxidant properties. Phytic acid is found in grains, legumes, seeds and seeds. The richest sources of phytic acid are wheat bran and flaxseed. Flaxseed contains 3% phytic acid.
- Kojic acid: Kojic acid is a natural and effective spot lightener. (obtained from rice) It helps to remove pigmentation by delaying the production of excess melanin and breaking down melanin. It is also a powerful antioxidant. Recommended for photo ageing and acne problems.
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Vitamin C or Ascorbic acid is found in citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables. Vitamin C also has antioxidant properties and stimulates collagen synthesis.
What to Expect After the First Application?
- After the application of Cosmelan 1 or Dermamelan, the person is informed that it is normal that there may be swelling-redness, burning-painting and some sensitivity on the skin for 24 – 48 hours.
- The skin becomes slightly red and takes on a sunburn-like appearance.
- Some itching may be felt within 48 hours after the application in those with very sensitive skin structure.
